‘Sourcing Volunteers’ Community Lunch

6th January 2009

Finding new volunteers to help support your project can often be a challenge, particularly as East Dorset isn’t home for a volunteer centre. This event will host two speakers on the subject, including the newly appointed volunteer outreach worker Ken Brearly, and Julie Anne from the probation service. Each will provide a different perspective on accessing volunteers and Ken is also available to provide additional support to any organisation or group in East Dorset, outside the event.

Community Lunches are aimed at East Dorset’s third sector organisations (voluntary and community groups, and social enterprises) and are organised with the help of Dorset Community Action. It is one of series of training and information events run as part of the East Dorset Community Partnership’s ‘Building Communities Training’ programme.

Ken Brearly, Dorchester Volunteer Centre says, ‘This lunch will be a great opportunity for me to make contact with organisations and groups in East Dorset who need extra support in sourcing and managing volunteers.’

The 'Sourcing Volunteers' community lunch will take place from 12:00 until 2:00pm on Wednesday 28th January at Allendale Community Centre. This is a FREE event including lunch, but places are limited.
