Speed Restrictions

1st October 2007

As of October, new speed limits of 40 and 30mph were introduced on junctions along Holt Lane, from Furzehill to Pig Oak.

Residents of the village together with the Parish Council campaigned for these speed restrictions to be introduced for a number of years, and the Parish Plan, which provided the evidence to illustrate the level of local concern, helped to tip the balance in favour of the community. However, the Parish Plan Group and Parish Council continue their campaign as there is a section of the road that has not yet been included at the end of the speed limit as you travel towards Holt.

A Speed Indicator Device has also been purchased in conjunction with Colehill to educate drivers about local speed limits and to reduce speeding in the two Parishes.
