Nature Watch Corfe Mullen - Update
25th October 2008
First, Nature Watch Corfe Mullen is going to be on the radio! Tomorrow (Sunday 26th October) afternoon (between 1.30pm-2pm) I'm going to be interviewed on Radio Solent's gardening and green show "The Good Life" by presenter Georgina Windsor. If you fancy a laugh (as I'm sure to mess up!) please tune in. You can also hear it live on the internet, or on the BBC's Listen Again Service any time after the show has finished.
I've also received quite a few "badger sightings" since the last e-bulletin. Badgers have been seen all over Corfe Mullen, ranging from the Lambs Green area to the Wareham Road. Thank you to everyone who has sent their sighting in, keep them coming... they really do help build a picture of where our local badgers live and feed. Maybe you haven't seen a badger but think you know where a badger sett is... if you do just drop me a line.
Lastly, a reminder that I'm hoping to set up a group called "The Watchers" over the Winter. If you are interested in your local wildlife and nature then this (very informal) group could be just what you've been looking for! If you think you might be interested in going for wildlife walks, coming along to wildlife workshops or just chatting to other people interested in wildlife, then drop me a line, I will put you on the "interested" list and will contact you when I've managed to arrange a meeting!
That's about it at the moment except to remind you that Autumnwatch is on BBC2 from this Monday at 8pm. This year it's coming from Brownsea Island (very close to home), and should include some great films of red squirrels, birds and deer on the Island. It's also worth having a look at Dorset Wildlife Trusts' special Autumnwatch web pages.
