Annual Conference 2009 - The Future is in Your Hands!
8th July 2009
This years conference was a huge success with over 100 delegates attending the event at the Allendale Community Centre, Wimborne.
The event opened with a speech from the East Dorset Community Partnership's chairman, Sir Ronald Stuart-Paul. The new structure was then explained by Vice Chair, John Shave.
Forest FM's Steve Saville then used his radio talent in playing host to 'question time' style panel, where the audiece was given the opportunity to ask all kinds of questions about the new structure and the Partnership in general. The Panel was made up of Sir Ronald Stuart-Paul, John Shave, Maureen Godfrey from the Partnership, and Richard Henshaw, Neil Farmer and Simon Woodcock from the District Council.
The seven local project were then presented as short clips, illustrating the projects visually. After a short break, it was then the turn of the audience rank the seven projects in order of priority for funding using electronic voting buttons. The results could then be viewed almost immediately, and the top five projects will recieve up to £2,000 each.
The event closed with a delicious and beautifully presented buffet, provided by the Allendale Community Centre's catering team, and delegates took the opportunity to network and catch up with fellow delegates.
