3.3 & 3.7 – AGFA MUGA Group (Active Games for All Multi Use Games Area) – not a Steering Group. (Ernest Whatmore).

6A – Lengthsman Scheme, not Neighbourhood Warden.

7C – Station Road, not Ringwood Road.

The respective minutes were approved, accounting for the amendments outlined above.

3.0 Matters Arising:-

3.1 8 June 2009
3.7 – AGFA No planning fee required for MUGA as it is a town council responsibility.

3.2 13 July 2009
3 – 8.1 Ebblake – gas cylinders remain, work in progress. EDDC responsibility. Planning enforcement has been involved. Spencer to follow up

5 – Crime Report
U-turns at Brock Way. Thought too narrow for a refuge. Spencer Flower advised that an officer will check this out. Needs to meet required specification.

6A - Lengthsman – it’s for VTC to decide. The Mayor is to consult with the EDDC CE, decision due October meeting.

7B – Brockenhurst College has secured responsibility for the future of Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre.

7C - Concern about the slow build of the shops on Ringwood Road. Due to being an individual developer.

7D – Access for horse riding. To check map from VTC clerk for definitive routes.

4.0 Updates:-

4.1 Town Plan for Verwood & Three Legged Cross
Catherine Boulton confirmed that the funding had been approved by the Dorset Strategic Partnership and the VTC. A meeting had been held in August at the Hub for local organisations; to explain about the Town Plan, its process and identify representatives from these organisations to liaise with and act as a communication channel. This was well attended with 23 people representing 18 organisations.

4.2 East Dorset Community Partnership
Ron Tomlin advised that the new structure was becoming established and the new Executive Committee was to meet end September.

4.3 Fire and Rescue Service – Dave Hockaday, Station Commander
July – 18 incidents
August – 13 incidents, including 2 speed cameras being burnt out.
Attendance at a serious road traffic accident at Alderholt – Ringwood Road. 2 Air Ambulances supported.

July – BBC filmed for a documentary ‘Lives in Danger’ featuring the heath fire at Stevens Castle/Ringwood Forest in 2003. To be televised in November.

Staff now trained on ‘Working at Height’ equipment and now in use.

October – to be joint work with police on speeding.

5.0 Open Forum

5.1 Mike Smith – Ringwood Road – Grass cutting
Land outside 166 and 168 overgrown and used as a dog toilet. Not been cut for the last 3 years. Spencer to follow up.

5.2 Peggrem Alma – Chase – Crossing on Ringwood Road
Crossing to enable access to bus stop on Woodlinken Road. Wrote a year ago last May to EDDC and Chris Chope. Matthew Williams (EDDC) to carry out survey before schools closed. Undertaken in August with insufficient traffic flow to meet requirements. Not a true reflection of situation. Considering traffic island, but thought too narrow to accommodate, but not his department. Request to Councillors for support. Toni to follow up.

5.3 Peter Knight – Overgrown Footpath – Ringwood Road
Opposite Blackmoor Road, alongside bus stop. Toni to follow up.

5.4 Jim Fiander – Street Lighting – Bingham Road to Ringwood Road
Light not operational. Spencer to follow up.

5.5.1 Kenneth Archer: – SIDs (Speed Indicator Devices)
Query as to why removed after such a short time. Designed for temporary use. They have greater impact at hotspots and can be moved around the area.

5.5.2 Gas Works – Manor Road
Intermittent – left for a 3 month gap. Toni to follow up. Should be co-ordinated and notice given to Highways/EDDC.

5.5.3 Flooding – Manor Road/Potterne Way
Engineering work has been undertaken to prevent repeat of last year’s flooding. Trench dug and pipes installed to lead to ‘river’.

5.6 Malcolm Lay – Crane Road Development
Perception is that this site is deteriorating and is easy to access. Contractors have made more secure and less accessible. Development now on the market.

6.0 AOB

6.1 Catherine Boulton had been given an Information booklet by the Library Service on Bus Services from West Moors produced by the West Moors Parish Council. Request to consider a similar publication for Verwood. For consideration by VTC/Transport TAG.
