3. Updates
a. Meeting 8 February 2010: Jim went through Notes of last meeting;
b. Steering Group - Report from meeting 8 March 2010:- Jim Fiander, Ann Abernethie, Peter Knight, Alan Watkinson, Catherine Boulton,Ernest Whatmore, Ron Tomlin;
- Publicity: A5 posters, main agenda items only; to be displayed in Morrisons,Andrews, library and local shops; copies to Council Offices, Stour & Avon and Forest FM;
- 'Notes' , not Minutes, of meetings; to be sent by e-mail, where addresses advised to Jim Fiander, 30 copies for next meeting, for those not on e-mail, 1 copy for library;
- LAG e-mail address: verwoodlag@yahoo.co.uk
- Link between VTC & LAG being considered.
c. Verwood Town Plan Launch Event 10 April 2010:
Cllr Jane Russell reported - very successful day, 1500 people in all, views gathered, detailed questionnaire to be put together later. Comments also by Bill Davies - VADCOT & Ann Abernethie - WOTS Youth Bus;
d. Questions & general discussion.
4. Fire and Police Reports, Police: PC Andy Robertson
Crime events in Verwood & Three Legged Cross are down; Anti-Social Behaviour also down; 12 speed check operations in March; new PCSO for Verwood, Robin Morgan; Police are supporting the MUGA.
5. Open Forum
a. Badger problem ongoing - Toni Coombs to pursue;
b. Springfield Road planned by County Council to be made up in the future;
c. Various issues/problems raised and discussed, including: problems re pedestrian access across Ringwood Road from Noon Hill Road; Fayrewood building site; Hazelwood Drive street lights etc;
d. 1 May, bronze plaque to be fixed to War Memorial Stone at Ferrett Green,public contributions invited.
6. Any Other Business
a. Morrisons update: Spencer Flower chasing. Meeting planned for 26 April;
b. Jim to investigate The Hub's request that subsequent meetings be held in a room adjacent to the Bistro;
c. Concern about lack of disabled access to meeting room, as lift out of action since previous Friday. Jim expressed dissatisfaction & to investigate. Dennis Medlycot unable to attend meeting.
