Ferndown Forest Golf Club

Ferndown Local Action Group was established in 2003, to raise any issues of concern to local residents, and be consultated on local issues and Council policies affecting their community.

Ferndown Partners and Communities Together (PACT)

In April 2008 the Ferndown Local Action Group reformed as a PACT panel. This was to reflect the community engagement work being undertaken through the safer neighbourhoods policing initiative in partnership with other key agencies including the District Council.

Having recognised that many of the concerns expressed by local residents were in relation to crime, anti social behaviour and environmental issues such as littering and dog fouling, the group agreed to take forward these concerns addressing them on a multi agency basis.

Whilst the PACT panel meetings are not public as they are predominantly agency based they do have representation from parish/town plan groups, residents associations and Home Watch. It’s important that the members of the panel can actually affect change within their organisations.

The panel will meet on a regular basis and will also arrange to hold public meetings where local residents can have their say about what most concerns them. From these public meetings the panel will agree an action plan around the three most pressing issues.

In addition to public meetings agencies working in and around Ferndown will feed in any issues that come to light through their work that they consider is having a negative impact on the quality of life of Ferndown residents.
